Stepper Drivers from Trinamic (4361) vs ST L647X series
« on: January 29, 2019, 02:45:14 am »
Anyone have any experience with these stepper drivers? I would normally get a demo board from both and play with it, but they both seem like they require some substantial coding time. It seems like ST is trying to bite into the motor control market, while Trinamic has been there for a while. The biggest take away I have so far is that if I have an encoder, the Trinamic does it all for me while I have to interface it and make extra code with the ST part (however, cubemx kind of does it for you). Not only that, but with Trinamic, I could just get rid of 4361 Controller and go straight to their driver chip if I wanted more simplicity. Any thoughts?
