Custom Resistor Network/Array?
« on: January 19, 2022, 12:39:51 am »
Hello!

I am redesigning a circuit that was originally used to cycle the glow plugs on a diesel motor.
But I've ran into a bit of a hiccup
There is an SIP-7 Resistor Network that appears to be custom, I was wondering if anyone has any more information on where I could get something like it!

The dimensions of the network are:
18mm W x 7mm H (without pins) x 1.3mm D

I need to find a suitable replacement for it, the pins are evenly spaced 2.5mm apart from each other.
I've done testing on it and have included a crude schematic below:

The measurements were performed out of the original circuit!

Any information about how I can go about getting something as a suitable replacement would help!

Are those measurements in-circuit? Better to measure out of circuit. Are you sure it isn't a standard 10k SIP7 network?

The measurements are out of circuit! Good call!

But those resistances between pairs of pins out of 2-7 don't make sense. They should be the sum of the resistances to 1.

One possibility to consider is that the common pin isn't 1. I've come across networks where the common pin is the middle pin. Can you take a picture? Is there a dot near pin 1 or the middle pin?

Those measurements don't work out at all.

Yes there is a dot above the first pin!

From what I've researched its a T1794 Resistor array, here is a link to the catalogue: http://www.caddock.com/Online_catalog/Mrktg_Lit/TypeT1794.pdf
The markings have wore off from me constantly checking the measurements but it originally stated T1794-237-2

I was able to use an incredibly bright LED to give me a silhouette of the internals through the semi-translucent ceramic.
I crudely sketched what I was able to see internally.
