| DAC Decoder popping and clicking on S/PDIF Coaxial and Optical |

Hi. A friend brought in an custom job somebody did for him, an combination of an Chinese selector with volume, an power supply board and an Chinese DAC Board that has two S/PDIF inputs and one analogue audio output. The problem he is having is that when he uses Coaxial each time he changes the TV channel or song the DAC emits a *pop* sound and when using Optical when in idle state the DAC emits constant *clicking* sound, and the little signal diode constantly flickers (Active , signal is inputed = LED ON ; Not active , no signal is inputed = LED OFF). DAC uses CS8416 and PCM1794. Is there an diy type of DAC board that has automatic muting I can buy in order to replace this one, or, maybe, from experience what would be the cure for this one? (Defective CS8416?) Edit: On analogue audio inputs such things do not occur. Only on digital S/PDIF. The DAC Decoder board is like so : Coax/Optical > CS8416 > PCM1794 > OPAMP > Analog Switch (HEF4053BT) > Into Analog input of selector |
