DC noise filter

hi , i am working on a dc filter to eliminate some of the noise on a car's dc. have about 1 volt PtP of noise on top of the 12v dc and varies from 30 hz to a couple Khz.  i didn't calculate values for the parts yet they are just random values right now but would the concept work ? or is there a better approach to try to eliminate the noise. ?
