| DC precision voltage source project |

I have an idea for a long term project, and as a way to sink my volt nuts into. A DC voltage source very similar to Ian's, focused on precision, linearity, compact form factor and battery life. I love Ian's PDVS v1 but I can never get my hands onto one, he's had a sale on Friday, and I missed it :( Anyhow, even if I had 10 of them, it would not help my voltnutty thirst. What I'm thinking is something among the lines of: * No expense spared, cost is not an issue * Compact size, about 160mm x 80mm * Accepts and can accommodate many battery types within the same enclosure: * 4 x 18650 batteries -or- * 12 x CR123 batteries -or- * 16 x AA batteries * LTZ1000 as the reference, but specifically in a A9 03458-66509 module / form factor, mounted on the main PCB. I love the A9 form factor, and its versatility as a precision reference building module for various projects * AD5791 as the DAC * Only VHD200 and VHP202Z resistors in the precision parts of the circuit. Easily ordered from Vishay. * +-10V out with 0.1V, 1V, 10V ranges, maybe more |

Well, if that’s your thing then who are we to argue :-) The Metrology page might be a good fit for the high accuracy you want. The Projects page might be good for non-precision aspects. For example, rechargeable lithium cells (LiIon, LiPo, LiFePO4 all in same boat) could make shipping annoying as they’re not supposed to be over 30% full and I assume you want always-on. |
