Title: digital switch cleanup?
Post by: SArepairman on April 09, 2014, 12:03:18 pm
How should a digital switch be driven, for instance one that is switching ranges on a precise meter?

I guess I am trying to figure out what the attenuation of an HF AC signal is through the buffer that drives the digital switch, internally. Is it comparable to the crosstalk between channels?

I am driving a digital switch effecting a low noise system through a MCU.

Should I adopt some clean up methods? At first I thought I was going to use optical isolation but maybe its overkill since the switch has a buffer/comparator inside of it, but I don't want the MCU noise being injected into my signal.

would you use digital(rf, silicon labs style)/optical isolation for a range switch?
