Hi,
can anyone help me understand this basic USB charging circuit please?
so I just teardown of my power bank just to confirm there's no data pin connected, I've got a female USB and would like to explement charring phone by my self.
in the picture you can see data pins are not connected to anywhere at all! but when I setup the same circuit without the chip it doesn't charge phone at all! I'm powering my female USB thought my bench power supply, and have tried different setting for it non worked.
I've teardown another simple USB power adapter as well, same thing nothing more thank cap and diode in at.
So can anyone help me undrestand why?

Some brands short D+ and D- together to indicate a charger.
It's clearly visible on your first picture (power bank?), not sure about the other board.

I'm just so ashamed of my self right now :-X I didn't pay close attention!
