Do you recognize this part?
« on: July 11, 2019, 08:49:53 am »
Hi,
This is one of the cheapest 7w led lamps(230Vac) that I could have found, I was curious what is inside, it's just a MB10F bridge a 47 ohm series resistor and a 390 ohm series resistor and 7 1W led, there is one 3 pin package inside the loop, is it a constant current one!? do you recognize it? it's marking is J2101S, is it something like LM317 a cheap chinese version?

It does look like a constant current driver, they usually are. I did find this page about it:

Yes, it's a current regulator. See the YouTube bigclivedotcom channel for lots of videos of LED lamps with this style of circuitry.

7 LEDs in series seems a little low, unless each one itself has multiple die in series inside, because linear regulators dissipate a lot of heat and are thus usually used for strings of >200V for a 240V line voltage.
