Does this motor have a datasheet?
(1/1)
Dmeads:
Hi all! I have this single phase induction motor from a fan.
It says lakewood 101A 120v/60hz 0.68Amp INS CL A
PAT. 6, 227,822;6,439,862 AND PAT. PENDING
THERMALLY PROTECTED L. CAPACITOR:4. OMFD
COM-WHITE HI-BLK MED-BLUE LOW-RED.
I'm trying to find the datasheet to get the peak current value needed for start up.
Thanks.

No - It's a specialty four-pole permanent-split capacitor motor, discussed in the patents. Allows cheaper laminations yet slim construction.
For Lasko fans, by Lakewood Engineering and Manufacturing Co. their stuff is made in china. It won't have a datasheet.
I would just lock the rotor and quickly measure the current. Fan motors are high-slip so it should not be too much, it seems to need around 120VA steady.
Note older 2011 Lasko fans had recalls in the USA:
"An electrical failure in the fan's motor poses a fire hazard to consumers.
Remedy: Repair
Recall date: March 24, 2011
Units: About 4.8 million units"
US 6,227,822
US 6,439,862

Induction motors usually have a starting current that is about 3 times the running current.
