ebay NTC thermistors... any good?
(1/1)

Search ebay for "NTC thermistor probe" and you get a ton of results for probes starting at barely $2 each. Has anyone here tried them and if so are they accurate enough to be worth the few dollars they cost for hobby use?
DaJMasta:
NTCs are pretty cheap, so I don't see why not.  The probe itself probably won't be good for very high or low temperatures and probably isn't built to last for decades... but that's not usually what you need.

They have K type thermocouples for around the same price and you can get temperature meters with display and battery for almost the same price, for $2 for a thermistor is almost paying extra  :-DD

I guess my main concern is that I'd spend $2 on a probe and then $200 of my time wondering why the readings don't linearize properly.
