Copper to Board-Edge clearance for DFM

Hi all,

I am working on a design where DFM is a concern. In particular I need to know what IPC has to say regarding copper to board edge clearance. Going through IPC-2222 I get to section "10.1.1 Edge clearance" but it only talks about copper to copper clearance as a function of voltage. I also went through IPC-7351 but is only for components and doesn't mention copper in particular.
I have worked with several manufacturers in the past and I know that in terms of manufacturing capabilities virtually anyone can deal with a 1mm clearance. But that's not good enough for my project manager who wants an "authoritative opinion" on the matter. I have wasted the whole morning googling and... nothing.
Does anybody know about any document out there that covers this subject, or at least something to shut him up?

0.5mm pullback is typical to avoid routing shorts. if you want to seal the internal structure : 2 mm will do it. this allows the prepregs to fuse properly without risk of peeling later.

Talk to Your board shop... after all they are the ones who will have to make it.
