Engraving in color?

I recently got into laser cutting and was wondering how they achieved the red and black logo on my Makerbot Thing-O-Matic (see picture). Was it engraved and how do they achieve that color?

It is screen printed.

You can engrave in color. First engrave, then fill with paint. Doesn't really work on wood.
