I've never worked with Ethernet switch ICs but have need for one in a design.
An unmanaged switch seems to be the simplest to implement.
I've looked at ICs available on Farnell in the UK and they only have managed switch ICs.
Can anyone help with a reliable source for Ethernet switch ICs, ideally an unmanaged switch?
Any tips for devices containing switches would also be welcomed :)

Ok.
That's good and means I'm not as far off course as I thought I was.
I have identified 3 part numbers but all only seem to be available through eBay in China but all were Realtek.
Thank you!

Microchip has many Ethernet switch products.
Checkout https://www.microchip.com/design-centers/ethernet/ethernet-devices/products/ethernet-switches (https://www.microchip.com/design-centers/ethernet/ethernet-devices/products/ethernet-switches)
They come with pretty decent documentation. Probably you can get free samples too.

The extra silicon cost to make a switch managed is low enough that it doesn't make sense to make a chip specifically for unmanaged switches.

A simple search like:

should get you plenty of suggestions.
