I have a few Lite-on LTC-4727JR (https://optoelectronics.liteon.com/upload/download/DS30-2000-193/C4727JR.pdf) seven-segment displays with four digits, four decimal points, a colon and a mysterious extra dot (marked L3 in the data sheet). Anyone know what the extra dot is for?

Degrees most likely :)
Ever noticed the circle next to C and F?

Agree, it’s degrees. It’s a multi-purpose clock display. Bog standard stuff.

Makes sense, thanks!

This used to be done by putting the rightmost display upside down.
