Extra dot on seven-segment display?

I have a few
Lite-on LTC-4727JR
seven-segment displays with four digits, four decimal points, a colon and a mysterious extra dot (marked L3 in the data sheet). Anyone know what the extra dot is for?

Agree, it’s degrees. It’s a multi-purpose clock display. Bog standard stuff.

This used to be done by putting the rightmost display upside down.
