Five Phase stepper driver from the 90s...
(1/1)

Hello, this is my first post here on this forum and i hope this is in the right section. I've been to a few other forums but get ridiculed over wanting to use old outdated tech however that is the point of this project alone. im building a highly accurate CNC (or attempting too) out of parts i FIND only. ive got a lot of understanding of the older through hole stuff and have traced the circuit im trying to repurpose. however im not much of a logic guy. which is where im stuck. the circuit is a mosfet based stepper driver using a couple of bcd counters and eproms which feed signals to a flipflop and mosfet driver type deal to control the high voltage side. im not trying to elaborate too much and get too wordy but i will include the circuit diagram i drew up. i plan on modifying what i need circuit wise and get new pcbs and all that but i cant seem to communicate with the board using an arduino. im sure its a relatively simple thing im just not getting right coding wise but im not too adept with the logic half of things like i said. by the way im self taugh as this has been my hobby since i could pick up a screwdriver. i know i dont know it all and im always willing to learn more. so please lets keep to the project and not how "uselessly old and inefficient" a 5 phase stepper motor is... i dont care, this is a pursuit of knowledge lol :D with that said please educate me ;D ;D
