So i have a water / flood sensor that links into my alarm panel (winland electronics waterbug 200). I currently have two of the remote 'probes' - I want to install them in a floor / celling void to detect water leaking from a flat upstairs. My question is, if i simply connect two copper wires to the sensor terminals, running them in a kind of loop to protect a larger area will it work? Perhaps i should simply test the idea. Obviously the resistance will dictate a maximum distance, but can anyone offer a formula or advice to work out a reliable way to do something like this. Many thanks in advance. https://www.winland.com/solutions/monitoring-devices/waterbug/wb200/ |

Running parallel conductors anywhere, no loops, will work. They can parallel you existing sensors. The conductivity of the water is more important than the length of the wire to the sensors. |
