Generic Solar Charge Controller identification
« on: July 13, 2019, 10:48:01 am »
I have a cheap solar charge controller that I bought to have some fun with solar power however I am not sure if it is a PWM or MPPT model.

Is there an easy way to tell them appart? Is the charging PWM'ed? If so I could not see anything other than DC on my scope.

Not really, there is a huge variation in design techniques for both. Can you take a pic and maybe write down some of the "important" looking components.
ie MPU / controller / FETs? / Inductors / caps
Hello <tap> <tap> .. is this thing on?

if it's cheap, most of all is that this is usual PWM controller.
