GPS Project
« on: December 08, 2019, 07:39:34 am »
Hi,

I am thinking of interfacing the MAX2771 (https://www.maximintegrated.com/en/products/comms/wireless-rf/MAX2771.html), up to a FPGA, and building a GPS receiver from the ground up. What other features should I integrate onto this project? Ultimately, I want to be able to have 2x of these receivers for dual-band GNSS, but not for the first phase.

Anything I should watch out for? Any other interesting chips in this space?

I'm quite familiar with FPGA development, but haven't done an RF project before. I spent the whole of yesterday reading through this book --> A Software-Defined GPS and Galileo Receiver
A Single-Frequency Approach (https://www.springer.com/gp/book/9780817643904)
