H-Bridge driver question (TB6612FNG)
« on: March 28, 2020, 09:30:50 am »
The TB6612FNG can drive up to 2 motors.
I would like to use this IC to drive just one motor. I'm using A pins for the motor I'm driving, AIN1 AIN2 PWMA, AO1 AO2.
What's about the B motor pins if i don't care about that motor? BIN1 BIN2 PWMB BO1 BO2

Reading the datasheet attached (https://toshiba.semicon-storage.com/ap-en/semiconductor/product/motor-driver-ics/brushed-dc-motor-driver-ics/detail.TB6612FNG.html) I'm not sure if it's better to put the driver in "stop mode" or in "short brake mode" (Table: H-SW Control Function).

More in general the motor OUTPUT in "stop mode" are "OFF", so i think no current flow through the mosfet, in "short brake mode" the bottom mosfet are "ON" and the motors pins are all connected to "GND".

What do you suggest me?

Thank you!
