Greetings!
I have the good ole PC5010 that was installer locked. I tried the default codes with no luck.
I saw the wonderful video and read many comments telling their stories of a great success so I thought I would give it a go.
I unplugged the battery.
I disconnected the AC at the terminal strip.
I have a version of the PC5010 with the 28 pin chip as shown in the video. I connected a wire from COM to pin #25. I actually soldered it on to ensure I wasn't touching other pins.
When I re-connected AC power, the SIREN seems to chirp every half second. I do not hear any relays clicking.
Not wanting to do any damage, I stopped there.
My board is eerily similar to the one in the video.
I have only one keypad.
It is hooked up to the house phone line but the phone is not in service.
Any ideas on this one?
Thanks again! You have given me hope!
EDIT: Solved!
It turns out, I had my telephone line, a zone expander (PC5108), SOMETHING plugged into PGM 2, and an EnvisaLink. 1. I unhooked all of those (not sure if any of them would get in the way) along with the siren and tried again. 2. I'm not sure what I was expecting but I heard NO clicks. I heard the keypad (LCD5501Z) beep so I went up and pressed *8 5010. The Armed light lit up! 3. I kinda panicked so I went down and cut the jumper line. 3. Went back to the keypad and saw it still said armed. 4. I went ahead and pressed 006 and it short-beeped at me. I entered a 4 digit code and it short-beeped at me. That seemed to do it. At this point I noticed it was showing a somewhat different display. The clock was showing and the opened zones were not showing. With some tinkering, I was able to set the time and show the open zones. I was also able to finally get a wireless device that was previously not working to respond. I played around with changing the master code and installer code, documenting everything, and testing the system.
