Title: Hall Effect Sensor Options
Post by: sygirl101 on February 28, 2012, 01:28:30 pm
I'm currently using a hall effect sensor to track the rotation of a magnet in a project. However, the profile of almost all Hall Effect sensors that I've found are quite large (something like this (http://ch.mouser.com/ProductDetail/Optek/OHS3150U/?qs=sGAEpiMZZMvhQj7WZhFIAEezcjsE2U9vTIDW%252b6OHZzU%3d)). I'm trying to find a similar linear Hall Effect sensor but that either looks out of the top or has a smaller profile. Does anyone know of anything?

You can file someting off the case.
The chip usually is a small spec in the middle.

How big do you need?

You can get little SOT-23 SMDs, for example DigiKey AH1751-WG-7-ADICT-ND.

I have used the A3212ELHLT-T parts from Allegro frequently. They are in a SOT-23 package and have one of the highest sensitivities you can get in the package/temperature range requirements that we were working to, and return a clean digital output
