Recommendations for Digital 100MHz dual channel oscilloscope
« on: January 07, 2015, 11:10:02 pm »
I need to upgrade from an analog 20MHz scope to digital. Have between $600-$800AUD. What would you recommend and why? Thanks for the advice.

There are quite a few recent threads relating to your question.

The most recommended right now is either the Rigol DS2072A for two channels or the Rigol DS1054Z and upgrade them.

I think in the price range you are looking at, there isn't much else to compete.

Thanks for the advice. I went with the Rigol MSO1074Z. A bit out of my price range, but I think worth it for the larger screen and Logic Analyser. It is quite a steep learning curve from my old analogue scope.

Include the Siglent SDS1102CML too.  The Rigol 1000z series is probably a touch above.  The Siglent can be had for about $356 US. (just checked on Amazon)  Look at some video reviews too, so you see the screen resolutions and differences.  I have the Siglent and have not put it through any heavy duty use, but it seems to work quite well for what I've done with it.  I have a Rigol DS2072A and it's a significantly nicer 'scope, but then, it's twice the price of the Siglent.

Thanks. My new scope broke yesterday, Channel BW LIMIT and INVERT soft buttons would not toggle. Rang my local supplier, Emona Instruments, and they sent a new update patch within 10 mins which fixed the problem. Nice to have good local supplier.
