Help finding front panel light pipe for pcb LED
« on: September 06, 2019, 05:50:50 pm »
Hello:

I would like use plastic to direct the light from a LED on a pcb to a panel 1-2cm in front of it.
I see this done in many products, but was hoping there may be a readily available molded insert that might fit into a hole in the panel and then be trimmed to length to just touch the LED.

No sure if I am explaining this correctly?
Was thinking of just some acrylic rod that could be inserted into a hole drilled in the panel, but thought it would look better to have a dome appearance on the front panel.
Not sure if this could be 3d printed?

  Thanks

Ok, I have embarrassed myself!

I tried the obvious, searched Digikey for light pipe and found no less that 4000 items.

Sorry, for the trouble.
