help identifing this connector
« on: April 13, 2019, 03:22:42 pm »
so, i bought a used car and i want to change the stock radio, i open up everything and its not the standard iso connector  |O

if anyone is able to found the pinout even better, but as now im mainly intrested in buying another connector in order to create an adapter to an iso connector (which is the standard/most common one).

it has 15 pin and the whole thing is 42mm wide. the pitch is 2.54mm.

cheers

If the pitch is 2.54mm, making an unkeyed replacement for your own adapter should be simple, that's a standard header pitch.  If you really want it keyed or to fit properly widthwise, it's more complicated, but if you want a good electrical connection that you can just heatshrink over or something and not expect it to need to come off any time soon.... it's an easy one to make.

seems to be a peugot connector ??

you could take 16 pins dupont connectors,  snip 1 pin,  and do your own connector ??  or any 2.54mm   headers with solderable pins ??

you have some kits with males and female pins  for very cheap prices on Ebay,  search dupont connectors kits, i dont see kits with 16 pins single row ?

https://www.ebay.com/itm/620PCS-Dupont-Wire-Jumper-Pin-Header-Connector-Housing-Assortment-Kit-Crimp-Pin/122676021413?

Or maybe go at a scrap yard trying to find your car and snip the connector,  done that many times.

On the first photo,  it seem   maybe, i say maybe  with a very fine needle  you could  unsnap the black connector from the green housing,  try to see in the slot  if you have a retaining clip / pin ??

I could do it on my suzuki connectors,  remade an iso to suzuki connector,  in case i put my gps 2 din radio in another car.

Have you already done a search for radio adapter and your make model year of car?

That'd be what I would start, unless you have some crazy car that hasn't sold very many somebody will have an adapter already.
