I thought maybe there was a topic for component identification but cannot find it so creating a new one...
Device in my air pump seems to have split its side so presuming this is the cause of my problem. Air Pump for a pond... this seems to be part of the speed control.
Not sure how to read those numbers... Thanks in advance

OK looks like a Triac
I cannot find any of them but I can source MAC97A8. Does that sound like a reasonable swap?
I was reading mine as a 6... maybe it is an 8?

As far as I read it, it is a MAC97A8, so it sounds like the correct part. Be careful if it is connected to the mains. It also looks like there might be signs of corrosion, check the resistors also.

MAC97 - sensitive gate triac. The other letters tell you where and when it was made, etc..
