| How does the temperature sensor in 936 soldering stations work? |
| (1/1) |
| technix:
I am seeing conflicting answers: someone claim it being a thermistor and some claim it being a thermocouple. What is it? And how do I find specs about it? This is for my soldering station project. I intend to use a MCU to implement digital control, but I need to know how the temperature sensor work so I can design the feedback circuitry: should it be a constant current source driving the thermistor and ADC sample it, or should it be one of those thermocouple ADC chips. |

In real Hakko 936 it seems to be some sort of thermistor (it says it should have 43 - 58 Ohm resistance according to the manual). Not sure what the clones of 936 use... |
