| How is this -11V regulated |
| (1/1) |
| Miti:
Good day All, I cant really understand how this -11V is regulated in the IFR2025 RF signal generator. Can anybody explain it to me? Shouldn't be a Zenner or something in the base or it is more like a filter? TR202 is the regulator. |
| schmitt trigger:
The circuit shown is clearly labeled "-11v filtering", and not "-11v regulator". The transistor capacitor arrangement is a capacitance multiplier, plus all the other caps downstream. With the limited information afforded by a truncated schematic view, it appears that either: a) the -11v value is only nominal, b) the -11v value has been regulated upstream. |

Thanks for pointing the obvious! I got stuck trying to understand the circuit and didn’t even read the note. :palm: The input is -12V and because all the other voltages are properly regulated, I expected -11 to be regulated as well but seems like it is not very critical. Capacitance multiplier... cool. |
