Buck Converter EN pin input voltage rating???
« on: July 21, 2023, 06:11:09 am »
Please refer to this ebay  buck converter module
Mini DC-DC 12-24V To 5V 3A Step Down Power Supply Module Voltage Buck Converter
https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/304174625197?var=603281751863

I cant find the EN pin  input voltage specifications.

At this stage I'm assuming 5V  (not  Vin)

The chip is made by monolithic power systems , they have that scheme with a vertical bar followed by 3-4 letters as the marking.

You could just look in their inventory for something that's capable of 3A and more than 12v input voltage and 500kHz or higher and then look in datasheets to see which has the marking like on the chip.

MPQ2315 could be it or a slight variation, marking is AGCY : https://www.monolithicpower.com/en/documentview/productdocument/index/version/2/document_type/Datasheet/lang/en/sku/MPQ2315/

AGC: product code of MPQ2315GJ;
Y: year code;

Enable/SYNC control
EN is a digital control pin that turns the regulator on and off. Drive EN high to turn on the regulator, drive it low to turn it off. There is an internal 1MEG resistor from EN to GND thus EN can be floated to shut down the chip. Also EN pin voltage was clamped to around 6.5V by an internal zener-diode. Please use large enough pull up resistor connecting between VIN and EN to limit the EN input current which should be less than 100uA. Generally, around 100k resistor should be large enough for all the applications.

I have some of these buck boards as well, though, red in color. They have very poor transient performance. I couldn't power a micro board from them without the board resetting every once in a while due to UVLO.

Amazing help full   -  Data sheet says  page 13  Enable :   general 100K pull up (as there is a 1Meg pull down and 6.2V  zener clamp internally)
