How to flash a USB flash
« on: June 15, 2021, 08:25:20 am »
Hi,
I have a 32GB flash, Unfortunately during a format, flash is not detected by my PC, I think maybe the firmware inside the chip is lost, so do you know any way to re-flash the firmware? I think maybe they have a common chipset and there should be some way to bring it back to life.

you have tool like :  SD card formater  5.0.1 from Tuxera

a normal format should not brick you usb key   even if its  linux or mac  file(s) format, windows should pop   this device need to be formated  ...

or this usb dongle is sh@%$%  "crap"   I have found in the past  many faked sizes usb dongle, an 1tb size for 8$ usd  lolll  was an 8 gb  loll

For the firmware(s)  you need to know the maker chip inside and if possible to find any related tools for that maker

ChipGenius v4  ....  to identify it if possible

Or see usbdev.ru  website in some cases ...

Sounds broken.
This website http://usb3speed.nirsoft.net/?vid=2316&pid=8192  shows many different brands and sizes with varying performance all sharing the same vid and pid

You have to find the maker software if there is .... check usbdev ...  sometimes based on the VID PID you can find some hints
