Title: I would like to build a Bluetooth audio device, please help!
Post by: signal on May 14, 2015, 07:30:21 pm
I am looking to build a basic bluetooth device, that will leverage a bluetooth chip.

The device will be very basic, it will be an audio client.  it will do like so:

1. Pair to a receiver
2. Whenever audio is received (3.5mm jack or similar), transmit audio via HFP (not A2DP)
3. Once audio is done transmitting it will go back to just waiting for more audio, it will not hog the channel

So it works similar to the way GPS prompts and other things work, they play on the HFP channel as needed, and then go back to waiting.

I am looking at this chip (RN-52)

It would seem I just need a board with a mic jack, and this chip, but am I missing something?  Is there a more ideal chip I should be looking at?

Thanks for your help!
