Checking drill file is aligned with gerbers

Hi,

I'm a bit new to PCB design, so this might be a silly question, but how do I check that the gerbers are aligned with the drill file? I've been using  Viewmate to import the files, and the gerbers align correctly, but the drill file is offset. I've done the same with a PCB I know is correct and the two are still misaligned, so i suspect the files are ok, but i'd like to know for sure. The files both have the spl extension and the drill file is an nc drill file.
