Title: Importing a frequency domain plot into AWG?
Post by: Mark on October 15, 2021, 11:14:24 am
I can record a time-domain waveform and upload it to an AWG to recreate the signal.

If I have a frequency-domain plot from a spectrum analyser, can I use that to generate an AWG signal with the same harmonic content?
Ideally I would want to automate the process, not manually enter every peak on the frequency plot.

Thnak you.

The issue is that a time domain plot is not equal to a frequency domain plot on a spectrum analyser; the spectrum analyser does not capture the signal phase.

But I don’t see why you couldn’t just do an inverse Fourier transform and then use that (assuming the AWG has enough bandwidth); the time domain signal will be all messed up because you will need to make up the phase data though.
