induction loop sensor

Im pretty new to circuit design so any help is appreciated.

I bought this induction sensor off of ebay hoping that it would have a relay built in to close a circuit to control my gate. However once received i discovered i received the solid state model that doesnt have a relay with a NO and Common connection rather an Emitter and collector connection. Ive done a bit of testing and im seeing a .2VDC change when the induction loop is triggered by metal. Im looking for help in designing a circuit that can use the emitter and collector connections and switch a Normally open relay.

Solid State Output Ratings: Optically coupled field effect transistors. 30 VDC maximum drain to source. 50 mA maximum current. 1.2 VDC maximum transistor saturation voltage.

The output acts as a switch. You need to apply an external voltage to it, just as with a regular switch or solid state relay.

Wow, that seems like overkill for detecting vehicles on your driveway.

I could not find the pin-out for the connector. In any case, if it has an open collector output you can just use that directly or use it to switch a relay. A relay might not be a bad idea even if not strictly needed because it provides isolation and protection.
