When looking for an overvoltage solution to protect the expensive LTM 4613s in my 5V/12V 8A power supply, I came across this part: MAX16013

It is similar to the circuit proposed before - drives two P-MOSFETs, provides reverse polarity and overvoltage protection up to 72V.

Just be aware that you should use a polyfuse which is rated for twice the expected current and that SMT polyfuses are likely to fail catastrophically when they trip.

I haven't had a problem with PTC fuses failing when called upon to do their job - if they did fail with any regularity then they wouldn't be an improvement over a conventional fuse! - but I don't use them to protect circuits running at more than ~24V and/or ~1A, either.
