I bought 2 displays on Aliexpress, Dwin's official store, it's a display without the touchscreen.

But I can't communicate via the serial port, which is the only way to interact with the display externally.

I tried programming a background image with an animated icon, but it doesn't execute the icon, it seems to only be able to load the background image, and then the display freezes.

I tested it with a resistive touch from another display, with SSD1963, and although the screen does not respond, the buzzer beeps when touching the screen.

Another thing is writing text on the screen when energizing the display, it doesn't work. Although it works in the DGUS simulator.

After a while I noticed that when loading the file via SD card, the firmware version appears: T5L1. But the screen datasheet says T5L0.

I contacted Dwin, they told me to put some kernel files along with the SD card files (inside the DWIN_SET folder). It seems that there are several operating modes, and my displays were in TA mode, but when sending a project made in DGUS ii software, the display would freeze. After 'converting' the display to DGUS mode, the projects and serial communication (RX2/TX2, TTL by default) worked according to the various tutorials on the internet.

The files should be available for download on the official website, but it seems like there are many files, and they are separated. Knowing which ones need to be used together may require contacting Dwin.

-T5L_OS_V22_NO RTC_20230618.BIN
-T5L_TCON_SET_20240202.INI
-T5L_UI_DGUS2_V65_20231219.BIN

- Note: to convert from TA mode to DGUS mode it is also necessary to have the T5LCFG.CFG file (made by DGUS ii software, which configures the speed of the serial port, backlight, etc.), otherwise the display will have a black screen until the CFG file is updated via SD card.

- Regarding the T5L1 x T5L0 version, Dwin said that it does not interfere with operation, in my case, where the display has a resolution of 800x480.

If the display no longer recognizes the SD card and the blue update screen no longer works, it may be necessary to recover the display using a tool called PGT05 (JTAG), which is a board with a dedicated SD card, the software is loaded into memory, then transferred to the display.

I created a repository for future reference, in case anyone is starting with these displays:

i used many  DWIN HMI PANELS,    and i can say documentation is sometimes poor,  their designing software too, and change a lot upon the models serie you have

and they may run up to 921600 baud in some cases like my panels did, and it was not easy to catch this speed until you get goood adapters, only FTDI worked fine
