Lion Battery Packs, BMS's Chargers...
« on: November 20, 2023, 12:36:38 am »

Hello Folks, who know stuff i dont.

I'm got a need to build 2 Lithium Ion Battery Packs using 18650 battery packs.   One will be 10s, 5p, ( 36V nominal ).  I want to use this to power up my Makita Lawnmower, which flattens the LXT batterys quite quickly and i need ~10 to get through my lawn.    I'm building it with a JK BMS ( BD4a17S4P ), that is appropriately rated for the job.    I have a very low capacity charger, but it will take 3 days to charge it up!

The other will be a 12s, 4p,  ( 44V nominal ) which i want to use for a heavy lift ( well, 6kg ) drone.   Have not yet started this, and dont' have a BMS for it.

What i'm wondering about is a charger..   I have several Meanwell RSP-48-2400 PowerSupplies, which can be adjusted up to around 56V, and down quite a long way..

Does anyone know of a ready made DC input charge controller that might be suitable?
