JBC C245/C210 handpiece connector
« on: October 22, 2022, 07:21:03 pm »
I would like to build an extension cable for the JBC soldering station.

Anyone knows what's the connector used by this station/handpiece?

I would like to order it from a "reliable" seller since it must handle some current, I don't want to risk overheating and ruin the original panel connector due to a bad connection.

Not wanting to be rude, but first Google result on searching "jbc handle connector type" shows it ;)

It's a Hirose RPC1-12P-6S(72).

Had absolutely no problem buying those a couple years ago. Good luck finding them right now though. As with pretty much everything else. :palm:

I recently looked for this connector and found out that it will be discontinued next year. See the hirose website https://www.hirose.com/product/p/CL0113-0001-8-72

Yes, I guess JBC is working on replacing it for the new generation.

hmm... so it could mean that spare handpieces for stations will be become difficult to find?

Probably not. They’ll either keep making them for JBC as a “custom” part, or JBC has found another supplier, or JBC will simply buy a massive amount to keep them supplied for years and years.
