JBC soldering iron tip cleaner
« on: June 09, 2020, 08:00:12 am »
Hi,
I purchased this tip cleaner: https://www.jbctools.com/clmu-pa-universal-tip-cleaner-non-metal-brushes-product-1476.html

It cleans soldering iron tips very well but there are other problems with it:

1) It chaotically turns on/off when there is stationary object in the far field of view of the device (please see my video here: http://mysharegadget.com/554671997)

2) My tip cleaner is quite noisy. You can watch e.g. this video and see that his tip cleaner is completely noise-less (the only difference is he has metal brushes, I have plastic brushes).

3) The tip cleaner consumes 3 W in standby mode and I can see its proximity sensors are taking measurements in standby mode. Please see a picture attached. That's a minor problem but I just don't want to see that in a device that costs quite a lot of money...

Is there any other owner of CLMU tip cleaner and can confirm or disprove his unit has the same issues?
