looking for part equivalent to Winsemi WS9420
« on: February 16, 2018, 10:05:14 pm »
I really liked a constant current LED driver I found in a cheap(ish) lamp the other day (see here: https://www.eevblog.com/forum/projects/component-identification-(led-driver)/msg1).

I can't find a place to buy it though (at least not the usual suspects such as ebay, aliexpress, banggod).
I also don't seem to find similar parts from the name brands (TI, etc.) for directly driving an LED from mains as the referred part does (w/o transformer or anything).

I intend to use it for custom light fixtures for my bench so I don't care it's not isolated and maybe not the safest thing out there.

Any suggestions?

Thanks HSPalm!

Unfortunately not having better luck with finding these...

Interesting how none of the brand names seem to have any products for this application (direct mains LED driver, non-isolated). They focus on the more sophisticated I guess...
I had found something kinda similar from TI but still a lot more components required.
