KOPIN KD040922K-K micro sized LCD display

Hi Guys. I'm trying to use / re-purpose a couple of KOPIN KD040922K-K 0,5" lcd's
but I'm unable to find any information on these tiny lcd's

from what i found online.  it appears that the displays take some sort of RGB type analog signal?   maby ITU-R 601 YCbCr (4:2:2) format?

I have reverse enginered a bit of it.  and based on the board layout etc.  it seems to have the 3 analog inputs for R,G,B
a couple more  Im guessing  could be H + V sync?   but also another few signal looking pins.

the LCD has got a total of 20 pins

and that's about where I got to for now.  unfortunately i do not have a working device, so I'm not able to look at signals at the moment...

does anybody on here have a bit on information on driving these things?
or similar analog input lcd's ?

I'm used to digital lcd's  parallel, i2c, 24bit RGB etc..  but not what appear to be analog signal straight to the glass? (i could be wrong about this..)

EDIT:  i think the lcd does not have a "driver" at all..   it is interfaced directly to the liquid crystal pixels. (analog RGB) with some sort of shifting logic
and  inverting DC bias to maintain DC Balance..   the other input pins, probably for the control logic  clock / direction ?
hm..

any information would be greatly appreciated

Damn  thats a small display

Weren't they used in some keyboards ??

Fraser:
I believe I have information on these as they are used in many thermal imaging scopes that I have worked on.

I can confirm that KOPIN miniature LCD displays are normally partnered with a dedicated KOPIN driver IC that does all the required signal processing.

I am not able to access my archives until Friday, but will do so if no one else has helped you before then.

The KOPIN driver IC datasheet was available on the internet when I last searched for it. I will see if my previous posts on repairing thermal imaging scopes contain the part number for you to search on.

KOPIN micro display page is here....

I found the ID of one driver IC used ..... KCD-A210. I will look for more and datasheet.
