Looking for an RF dimmer and timer to control my aquarium LEDs, 12V at 2.5A in total for full brightness. Have looked on Amazon and there are two RF remotes but have abysmal reviews.
If nothing reliable exists I was thinking of an Arduino project: Arduino module + 433 MHz RF transceiver + LM2679 switcher to provide the dimming + DS1307/DS3231 RTC to provide the timer
I am not sure if the Arduino would be a clever idea, for starters how do you make a tiny and sleek remote?
Edit: Damn something exists http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/315Mhz-Wireless-Remote-Control-RF-DC-5V-Transmitter-Receiver-Module-for-Arduino-/231418644091?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item35e1a0467b (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/315Mhz-Wireless-Remote-Control-RF-DC-5V-Transmitter-Receiver-Module-for-Arduino-/231418644091?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item35e1a0467b)
