Lexmark toner cartridge EEPROM IC recognition
« on: November 18, 2019, 05:55:33 pm »
Can someone recognize the EEPROMs below and point any link with datasheets? Both of them are used in Lexmark's C530dn color laser printer as a security for their toner cartridges.

The SO-8 belongs to the Lexmark original one while the SO-20 from a 3rd party refilled cartridge.

Regards

I have already read it but it's totally different EEPROM.

The original chip is a custom part that can't be replaced by any standard EEPROM.  The 3rd party chip is a reverse engineered microcontroller equivalent.

Is really a microcontroller or just another EEPROM?

Of course a 20pin IC tends to be microcontroller but why? They could use instead  a standard commercial EEPROM.

Is there a web site that I can find those reverse engineering communication between printer and security chip?
