Limited availability of JST XH SMD connectors?
« on: July 11, 2024, 09:49:03 pm »
So I recently went on a search for what I thought was a very widely available connector in the US: a JST XH SMD female header with 5 pins (S5B-XH-SM4). Looking on Digikey, only the 4 and 6 pin versions are available, and Mouser barely has any JST header products available at all. Does anyone know what's up with these products? I can get knockoffs from China pretty easily, but I'd like to buy the real thing if I can.

JST doesn't make them: https://www.jst.com/products/crimp-style-connectors-wire-to-board-type/xh-connector/

Either use the 4 pin, 6 pin, or use the through hole version (S5B-XH-A).
If its a hobby project just buy from china.

Ah, interesting! That's sort of frustrating, but good to know. Chinese connectors it is then!
