| Looking for 4mm PCB mount banana plugs |
| << < (4/4) |
| MiDi:
Back in October I made a prototype of a 4-wire short with this kind of plugs. The plugs are from ebay and without the solder nose, the manufacturer is unknown. Compared to my standard 4-wire short and a copper wire, I did not recognize any significant difference in offset voltage between them. |

This is a wealth of useful information. It looks like you soldered the plugs in, right? Can you tell us more about how you tested and compared the various versions against each other? Did you track both voltage and temperature over time? |
| MiDi:
It was just a quick comparison, after >5min settling for each I read the voltage. All 3 versions had around 1min settling time to final value. Test was done on a Keithley 196 6,5 DMM, so not a metrology grade comparison. The conclusion for me was that my standard 4-wire plug was good enough for the intended job. Edit: Yes, they are soldered from both sides |

They could be soldered from both pcb sides easily and should be quite robust, but possibly you can add a custom thread to screw it - if that is main concern. They can be used as both plugs and jacks. --- End quote --- I had found those plugs as I've scoured the Stäubli catalogue a few times, but hadn't realised the metal part may possibly be ordered separately. That may be just the thing. Ah, I hadn't noticed they are brass before. Still, decent option. --- End quote --- See also Stäubli SA400 series— screw on gold plated brass banana. Stäubli’s main catalog sucks. Here’s a data sheet: https://www.distrelec.ch/Web/Downloads/_t/ds/SA400_eng_ger_fre_tds.pdf The Schützinger FK 1210 is almost identical. |
