Looking for ADC eval board / other ready to go solution for a SIX wire load cell
(1/1)
SpannersToSparks:
Hi
I am in the UK and am looking for an ADC capable of processing data from a 6 wire (must be six and not 4, I have no choice in this unfortunately) load cell. The Texas Instruments ADS1232REF looks ideal but appears to be out of stock in the UK. One alternative is to ship from the US with digikey but the last time I ordered from them it took weeks. I am looking for something readily available.
With that in mind can anyone recommend an alternative to the ADS1232REF ADC evaluation board?
Cheers
splin:
How about the AD7193? Lower noise than the ADS1232 - 20.6 noise free bits v 19.2 @ 10SPS, 64X gain, similar INL (but only 4ppm typical figure given for the ADS1232 for gains >= 64). Page 31 of the data sheet shows the 6-wire load cell connections. Don't know how good the software is though.

Thank you for your reply and apologies for the delay in responding.
Would the AD7192 also work? It appears to have weigh scale functionality already built in and I am basically looking for a turnkey solution :)
