Looking for High Speed (1Mbps) RF Tx/Rx modules with Logic Inputs
(1/1)
TeddyPython:
Hi, I'm wanting to build a simple wireless data system, to transmit data at least 1Mbps over a 2m distance. However, I would like the module to have a simple Logic input for data, rather than (say) a I2C or UART interface. Something along the lines of the NTX2 (datasheet: http://www.radiometrix.com/files/additional/ntx2nrx2.pdf), but working at a much faster data rate.

Is anyone aware of such a transmitter/receiver/transceiver (preferably with dev pcb)? I am not restricted by operating band, I just don't want any data framing or similar - just straight modulation of an input bitstream.

EDIT: Changed data rate required.

What if what you're looking for simply isn't available because it's not commercially viable, not very practical, not especially robust, and is likely to violate unlicensed radio regulations in most of the world? What's your application and why do you want this instead of any of the quite nice and usable smart transceivers such as the nRF24L01+? Or, for that matter, a good fast optoisolator?

There are no regulations about packet mode vs wire mode other than duty cycle limits on some bands in the EU.

The AX5043 is the only single chip transceiver I'm aware of that supports wire mode. It is synchronous (there is a baseband clock signal supplied by the AX5043 that you have to time your data pin to). However this chip only goes up to 100Kb/s.

Thanks OwO, I think I will see about building it from an SDR system instead. Appreciate the clarification of terminology with 'wire mode' too.
