| Help, looking for ideas- 8 channel, duplex remote control for remote ATU?? |

Hello folks, Throwing this out there in the hope that someone has suggestions? Looking for clever (yet simple) suggestions to remote control remote device, preferably in full duplex. I operate a remote Antenna Tuner (ATU), model LDG AT-1000. https://ldgelectronics.com/index.php/products/desktop/at-1000proii/ It was not designed for remote use, but that's not stopping me :) Currently I provide power down the Coaxial line using a Bias-T to provider 12v DC. To trigger the 'Tune' button, I made a time delayed relay which engages the 'Tune button' for 4 seconds after power on, this enables Tune mode, and if no RF is present within a few seconds the ATU simply reverts to its previous settings. This arrangement works, but is very limiting in terms of full operation of the ATU. So I'm on the hunt for a better remote control solution, ideally 8 channels duplex which will allow full control and feedback from the button status led's (I don't need to feed back the LED bargraph). I really don't want to run a multi-core control cable if at all possible. I have considered a form of PWM delivered over the DC voltage line, but since I operate all HF frequencies from 1.6 MHz to 29 MHz at 400 Watts I thought that may be a bad idea and would end up with false triggers. Any suggestions, perhaps off-the-shelf duplex control modules? Thanks Ray |
