Looking for Male Panel Mount Schuko Receptacle

American, here. ;)

I'm looking for a panel mount, male version of this Type F Schuko connector. It should have a weatherproof cover - and color doesn't matter. Any ideas?

You may be out of luck there, in most of Europe we'd use IEC60309 for a weatherproof inlet even on a piece of equipment that used schuko or another national standard for out. Obviously being from the UK I'm less likely to have seen one than others so I am prepared to be proved wrong.

Very unusual. This is what I could find.

You could always build it yourself by combining a regular plug and a box.

If it is to be mounted on a vehicle I would be very careful to provide an inline breakaway so that if the driver forgets the cable and drives off it does not cause major damage. I guess another possibility is a circuit that would disable the starter when the shore cable is plugged in. It disables the starter while it detects shore power.

I suspect one of the problems here is that cable mount sockets as you might want to plug into this don't have standardised external dimensions so it is difficult to design a panel mount plug that will fit reliably unless it protrudes a long way and has a lot of clearance around it. Also schuko is generally not used where weatherproofness is required.

What you're asking for really is very unusual, is there some specific pre-existing cable that you need to mate with? In the shucko-using parts of the world (well, Germany at the very least) this type of connector would be the norm for a weatherproof power inlet:

The males don't usually have weatherproof covers, they're waterproof (IP44) when mated and usually just mounted facing downwards to keep the worst of the rain out when not. I think I have seen covered ones and rubber boots though a quick search didn't reveal much. In any case you'll probably have a lot more luck with that connector family. If you really must mate with a cable-mounted female schuko you may need either a hanging tail or a short adaptor cable.

Yes...we are finding this out. The original engineer on the project had specified the Schuko male connector which has gone obsolete; and, I agree, it IS unusual. I have forwarded your information to our designer for reference. Thank you so much for your input (pardon the pun).

The original part was an International Configurations 70198. http://internationalconfig.com/icc6.asp?item=70198

Apparently this item is on 100 units in the field and the customer is requesting more.
