looking for some empty enclosure with tweezers
« on: January 13, 2020, 06:54:35 pm »
Hi everyone,
I'm looking for some empty enclosure box to put some electronics inside, a box with tweezers at the end.
something like an mastech ms8910 or ms8911 with no electronic inside, so that I can fill it.
I've tried some site like ali or banggood or ebay without success
does anyone have a link to something like that ?
thanks in advance.

thanks, I already have these smd probes, different models.
but I'm really looking for something in one box only, with tweezers attached.
if someone has a 3d printable case that would also be fine (I could also define my own but I'm not confident with 3d softwares actually)
I have one mastech 8911 and I really like the way it feels in the hands.

Have you tried the professional SMD tweezers like these:
https://www.smarttweezers.org/
I've got a pair of ST3 that I've had for years and would replace them in an instant. They look identical to the pictured ST2.
Their later offerings ST5* and LCR** are something else again.

I've heard good stuff about LCR brand tweezers here on the forum too:
https://www.lcrresearch.com/pro1/

Some years back I tried a Mastech set like yours but it didn't match up against the accuracy or form factor of my ST3 so I gave it to a friend.
I use my SMD tweezers heaps and convinced a few other members here to splash out and get something decent and AFAIK none gave regretted doing so.

Something like this https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1905436189.html?spm=2114.12010612.8148356.61.42b64a8dBhOg9O If this is to big the same company has hundreds to pick from, this one is sensibly large for homebrew and tapered to fit in the hand better.

Two bits of FRP Fiberglass strip as tweezers set in a small block inside the case and run the wires (four wire) to the gold plated hardened copper tips. You could even make the tips as a PCB with traces to holes and get them plated by the usual suspects.

I really like this seller, they have a full collection of boxes, I think I will find my needs here. thanks for this one.
they don"t have the exact tweezers box, I will probably end up buying a mastech clone and empty it !

I have used them a few times and no issues. Rolling a 3D printed enclosure is what I would do but I have a few revived skills with Cad and a few printers  ;)

You get what you pays for.  ;)

I've had the Mastech as I mentioned but these are in another entirely different class.
If you hunt around you can find them a good bit cheaper than normal.

If you can't find anything better these Holdpeak HP-990B ones are going cheap for the next 5 hours $14 inc shipping. They look like they have beefy tweezers which is good.

If you can't find the case you're looking for, I would be willing to model it for you for the cost of shipping.

I also have one of these HP990, and I don't like the way they feel in hand. the probes are too close, you have to open them manually to use them
lots of time waste. I really like the mastech they are a good width.
